Amy is a Sophomore Secondary Education (english) major from Fort Worth, Texas. She is the youngest in her family, but loves watching that family grow with her niece and nephews, that she loves deeply. As hobbies go, Amy is passionate about any outdoor activity, but is particularly drawn to rock climbing, mountain biking, running, and long boarding. She also spends as much time as she can playing and listening to music. While she is not too particular in regards to a specific music style, some of her favorite artists are Josh Garrels, Kings Kaleidoscope, and The Oh Hellos. While she thoroughly enjoys engaging in any of those activities, her deepest passion is spending quality time with people - friends, family, and getting to know new people! Amy also loves culture, and experiencing new cultures, so her study of the '60s was incredibly interesting as the culture of that time period was one quite of its own.
The 1960s was a rather iconic decade for America. From music, to fashion, to political movements, nearly every aspect of the U.S. culture and society seemed to be touched, or in some way shaped, by this unique decade. Many of the musical styles, film effects, or even civil rights that are an integral part of this nation today could likely have their roots traced back to the 1960s. This time period evidently greatly impacted the way America is knitted today, as a nation of people - likely as diversely represented as the '60s were themselves. Amy thoroughly enjoyed studying this particular era, and noticing the significant impact that this time period had on America. This in depth research of cultural and societal topics throughout this decade was certainly enjoyable, enlightening, and indeed a very intentional welcome to the '60s.
